I am finally done with all of the rush of Christmas Card photos and family. It has been alot of fun, but I am looking forward to some RandR at the beach with my wife’s family. I have also been shooting alot of ad work as well as editorial work. One of the stories I have worked on recently for Portico Magazine is for a non-profit called Hand in Paw. They are an organization that takes dogs into help work with children and adults in either hospitals, or rehab facilities. I had the privilege of meeting 3 amazing kids at the UAB cancer center. They showed me how the dogs help them through their treatment. All of these kids have been through alot. Avery has a blog that has tracked her diagnosis and treatment. I ask this alot, but I am sure all would appreciate any prayers on their behalf.

At the end of March, I had the honor of photographing a little girl from my church who was in Children’s Hospital. Ella Grace, almost 4 months old, had been admitted with flu like symptoms. From there her parents, Lonnie and Anita were given the first in a series of rounds of bad news. Since then Ella Grace has fought a hard battle with infection and disease, things I definitely don’t understand. Yesterday at church I heard the sad news that Ella Grace had passed away. I am very saddened for her family, but honored to have had the opportunity to capture some of the last images that really looked like her. So, as I often ask, if you pray, pray for Lonnie and Anita as they walk this terribly difficult road.

I had the opportunity to create some images for a wedding dress boutique, The White Room here in Birmingham. It was another project with my good friend and makeup artist, Celine Chenoweth. She produced, styled and did the make up for the shoot. The girls were great, we had a great time!
