Our kids are GREAT! But, they are kids nonetheless. I think this series gives me an idea of what is to come…
The Kelleys
A few weeks back I was able to photograph some old friends. Jeffrey, Noelle, and Eli Kelley. I have known Jeffrey for quite a while. Over the past two years, Jeffrey has been battling the effects of a benign brain tumor as well as the effects of the treatment. To top it all off, Jeffrey’s nephew the son of Michael (his brother) was diagnosed with Leukemia. So, if you get a chance to look at this slideshow, bookmark it, and when you look at it again, pray for Joshua Kelley in Nashville. I don’t have any pictures of Joshua, but one day when he is well, I will go to Nashville, take some pictures and be sure to post them here.
My kids
It’s been a while since I showed some pics of my kids. We went to the pumpkin patch Monday. I must say that the Grand Ole Pumpkin Patch is not nearly as cool on a Monday. I don’t have any Saturdays to go because of weddings and such, so we tried a Monday. We had one very distraught 4 year old when we couldn’t get any cotton candy because the lady left early because NO ONE was there, except us. And the pony ride definitely had a price inflation since no one else was there. $4 for 4 laps, a dollar a lap, what rip off! All that to say we still had fun, because our family was together. We did a self portrait which was quite comical with Kalin’s antics, but I will save that for later, it might be our Christmas Card!
Fall is finally upon us…
This time of year is beginning to be a very busy time. So many people want family pictures for Christmas cards, so that is what we are starting into. Here are some recent family sessions, and one engagement session. Amy and Andrew are getting married next October, but we went ahead and made the engagement pictures this year. It’s going to be so much fun…
Lots of fun…
I had another post going that sounded very negative and pathetic, I erased it and decided to show you all the fun I have been having!
I had a great 3 days a few weeks ago. It started by photographing the Sivley family. Steven is a worship pastor at my church, and has become a great friend. He and Stephanie have a beautiful baby girl, Ava. Then I traveled to Nashville and photographed 5 families there. Most of them were at Parthenon Park, and boy was I wiped out at the end of that day! We played, ran, looked at the ducks, and ate snowcones. Then Sunday October 1st, I photographed the wedding of Mary and Adam in Nasville. Mary interned with us at Portico Magazine a couple of years ago. Through that process she has become a great friend, and a great photographer. I just wish they would move back to Birmingham so she could shoot with me! Shooting the wedding of a friend is so much fun. It takes such a fabulous and fun day and compounds it by the meaning it has for someone you know and care about.
So here are some pictures.
New Site is Ready!!!
The new site is finally ready! Please check it out, www.jasonwallis.com. Everything will come together now and hopefully make alot more sense. It will be a continuous work in progress. It is set up so that we can continually update and add portfolio images. Please take a look, sign up for the email list and let us know your thoughts. We value your opinion and woiuld love to hear what makes sense and what does not.
I have a few more things to post, but right now I need to make sure the site is going right.
Friends Families and Movie Stars
My long time friend and former drummer in my band when I was full time on the road, Tim Cain and his fiance Jenny came to Birmingham for their engagment pics. I am shooting their wedding on November 4th. I can’t wait for that weekend. Weddings are alot of fun for me, but combine that with some of my best friends in the world, and it makes for an incredible weekend. If you have kept up with this blog for a while, you may remember Taylor and Brittany or Duane and Jessica. Those are the other 2 guys that were on the road with me, and their respective weddings were incredible too.
Another long time friend, the editor of the magazine that I work with, Julie Keith asked me to come and take some pictures of her boys for her high school reunion while Todd her husband was out of the country. The youngest boy Fletcher is 4 days younger than my boy Ian. We just missed camping out in the hospital with them in January.
I am blessed to have families that I have photographed before coming back for more! The Hendrix family had me photograph their Christmas Card picture last year and so we went for another round!
Then finally I was able to photograph my first movie star! Houston Tumlin was one of the sons in the recent Will Ferrell movie Talladega Nights. I haven’t seen the movie, but apparently Houston’s character Walker, was quite a handful!
I almost forgot a couple of things. My new site will be up soon! Keep an eye out… Also remember that you can post comments if you like, I always love to hear what people think about what I am doing, well only if you like it:)
A rising star in photography here at the 504, Caleb Chancey was gracious enough to take some pictures of me and my boy Ian while he was up at the studio,
